Warbird Wednesday!

Today’s warbird is the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. The T-34 was a military trainer derived from Beech’s Model 35 Bonanza. The T-34 first flew on 2 December 1948. Production didn’t begin until 1953 when T-34As were first delivered the US Air Force. In 1955 the US Navy received T-34Bs. The Air Force began replacing its T-34s in the late 1950s with the T-37. The Navy began replacing their T-34Bs in the early 1970s. The replacement for the piston powered T-34B was the turbine powered T-34C

In my photo is a T-34A looking like a Navy T-34B at Culpeper Airport.
