100 Years Ago Today: the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics, (NACA, the predecessor to NASA) was established, “to supervise and direct the scientific study of the problems of flight with a view to their practical solution, and to determine the problems which should be experimentally attacked, and to discuss their solution and their application to practical questions.”

Today and tomorrow, we and NASA History are hosting a special symposium at the Museum in Washington, DC commemorating a century of aerospace research and development. Each day’s talks begin at 9:15 am EST and are live webcast: http://bit.ly/1AMajeo

Don’t have time to watch the whole day? Tune in at 1pm EST for a special edition of our “What’s New in Aerospace” webcast about the early history of the NACA live from the symposium: http://bit.ly/whatsnewinaerospace
