A B24 Liberator ‘gets the chop’ somewhere over Belgium, Autumn 1944. The contemporary caption records that other aircraft didn’t see any parachutes, and consequently she must have taken her crew of 10 down with her. A few seconds after this photo was taken, she snapped into a violent roll to starboard, and disintegrated. There were no survivors.
