A selection of images of the Bf-109 in use with the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. Introduced into the fray in 1937, the Bf-109 proved decisive in the air war over Spain, outclassing everything it went up against and giving rise to several aces, some of whom would continue to add to their scores during WW2 (the most famous example being Werner Molders). The versions that saw action in Spain were the Bf-109B, Bf-109C, Bf-109D and Bf-109E.
