I just started this new collection! It’s been awhile since I’ve added a collection and this one is long overdue! The Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” was an amazing aircraft and became the iconic bomber of WWII. This collection is dedicated to that famous daylight bomber that help bring Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich to its knees!

My father-in law Edward Frederick McCormack was a tail gunner on a B-17 in the 15th Air Force based in Italy. He completed his quota of missions and was supposed to transfer to the Pacific theater to fly on Boeing B-29 “Superfortress” bombers on missions to Japan but mercifully, the war ended before that could occur!
