Here are some pictures of the U of MN aerial bug catching system from yesterday evening. The traps retract up against the wing for launch and landing. The aircraft is illuminated so it can be flown up to 30 minutes after sunset (prime bug catching time.) Flight is fully autonomous using the AuraUAS autopilot system running on Bolder Flight Systems autopilot hardware.
