The Italian Air Force in WWII is often overlooked or even dismissed with contempt by some aerohistorians but nevertheless, it was a dedicated force of brave aviators often flying obsolete aircraft against overwhelming odds. They gave a very good account of themselves in spite of operating in the shadow of their more powerful ally Germany. Here is my collection of Italian aircraft that served over the skies of England, the Mediterranean Sea, the sands of the Sahara, the Russian Steppe and ultimately with the Allied air forces after 1943.
