Texan Tuesday!!
This is a photo of an SNJ-6 Texan in the evening light at the Military Aviation Museum. The SNJ-6 was the definitive war-time version of the Texan. A key recognition feature of the SNJ-6 is the frameless rear most section of the canopy.
All SNJ-6s were built under a US Army Air Forces contract as AT-6Fs. In June 1945 all AT-6Fs that had yet to be built or delivered to the USAAF were reassigned to the Navy and designated SNJ-6.
