They don’t call Minnesota the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nothing. At the time of this photo, it would be more accurate to say Land of 100,000 Lakes and Ponds because we recently had alot of rain. In fact it was one of the rainiest years in recent memory. Most of the water you see in this photo is in fields that were flooded.

When at pattern altitude “about 800′ above the ground” I can see a half dozen lakes in every direction, all within a 10 mile radius. This is one of the top things I enjoy about Minnesota!
