Hi my friends, while doing the post for the Douglas DC-8 airliner the other day I came across the “never built” Douglas DC-8 Skybus prop-liner. It was to use two Allison V1710 engines with 60 foot shafts. Here is the links for more information.

I wonder how much power was lost with those 60 foot shafts (look at one of the photos for the position of the engines).
